About us

Transparency

Inspection and regulation are part of the way that government ensures that the performance of providers is transparent to the people who use those services. By providing an independent judgement about the quality of services, inspection encourages services to improve, and helps inform commissioners and the public about the quality of services so they can make choices about which provider to use or take action to bring about improvement.

We support greater transparency of public information. We aim to be transparent in the way we go about our inspection and regulation work. We actively share the data and information we hold about services and we aim to be open about our priorities, performance, finances and how we are managed.
