After a local authority children's services inspection

For the period May to September 2013 we will undertake inspections of local authority services for looked after children. For further information go to the Inspection of services for looked after children page, which has the key inspection documents.

Inspections of local authority arrangements for the protection of children

The lead inspector writes the report. It has the inspection findings and grades.

We send the final report to the director of children’s services within 20 days of the end of the inspection, with copies to the lead member for children’s services, the chair of the local safeguarding children board and the chief executive of the local authority.

We publish the report on our website within 22 days of the end of the inspection, together with a version for children and young people.
