We will inspect childminder agencies within 12 months of the date the agency registers its first childminder. Inspections will then take place within 36 months of the first or previous inspection.

If we judge a childminder agency to be ineffective at any inspection, we will reinspect it within 6 to 12 months of the date of the inspection judgement.

Notice

We give notice to childminder agencies by 10am on the Wednesday or Thursday before the site visit the following week.
