Providers of social work services
Following the commencement of Part 1 of the Children and Young Persons Act 2008, on 13 November 2013, local authorities can enter into contracts with private or voluntary social work providers for the delegation of their statutory functions for looked after children and care leavers. These social work providers must be registered with Ofsted under the Care Standards Act 2000. To find out if this local authority has a contract with a social work provider, please see our Register of social work providers.
Local authority adoption agency and local authority fostering services inspection reports
In November 2013 we stopped doing individual inspections of local authority
adoption agencies and fostering services. We now inspect local authority services for
children in need of help and protection, children looked after and care leavers. These
inspections include local authority adoption agencies and fostering services. When
published, these inspection reports are available below on this page.
For inspections of local authority adoption and fostering that happened before
November 2013, reports are available via the links below. The lists are alphabetical
by provider name.
