Richard Brooks, Director, Strategy

Richard Brooks is the Director of Strategy in the Performance and Operations Directorate. His role is to ensure Ofsted makes the best use of all its evidence to improve outcomes for children and learners. He is responsible for the data that supports inspections, for the publication of Ofsted’s official statistics, and for generating critical insight from our rich evidence base. He also leads on equality and human rights issues and on sustainability.

Richard was formerly Senior Policy Adviser at the Department for Children, Schools and Families, and before this Associate Director at the Institute of Public Policy Research where he was responsible for the institute’s work on public services including education.
