Ofsted releases materials for history coordinators

27 Jan 2012

Ofsted today released new resources to support the improvement of teaching and learning in history in schools.

The packs, aimed at history coordinators in primary schools and heads of department in secondary schools, have been written by history specialists led by Ofsted’s National Adviser for the subject, Michael Maddison. They contain a series of questions and activities that focus on five key issues. Teachers are encouraged to consider these issues in light of their own practice.

We hope these packs will help to disseminate findings from our 2011 survey report, History for all. These packs are intended to promote good practice and, as a result, improve all aspects of history in schools.

You can view or download the packs as PowerPoint presentations from the associated resource page.
