Adoption quality assurance and data forms 2011-12 first statistical release
26 Mar 2013Ofsted
This publication has data on adoption agencies in England for the period 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2012.
Ninety per cent of all adoption agencies submitted data.
We are publishing the data as experimental statistics as they are still subject to testing in terms of their volatility.
Thank you to everyone who submitted their returns. Although not fully complete it gives a really useful picture of the numbers and profile of adopters and children in both local authority and voluntary agencies. It also gives data relating to types of adoption, registrations and withdrawals, and a range of other subjects.
In February 2013 we released disaggregated data at an individual agency level. You can find these data below in Excel workbooks called ‘Local authority adoption agency data 2011–12 – experimental statistics’ and ‘Voluntary adoption agency data 2011–12 – experimental statistics'. On 26 March 2013 we updated the local authority data to bring them in line with the local authority data published in November 2012.
The local authority data have been republished on 26 March 2013 due to minor errors affecting between two and four data items for six local authorities. The local authorities affected were Barking & Dagenham, Bromley, Salford, Shropshire, Tower Hamlets and Walsall. The local authority data now match the data published in November 2012.
