Ofsted was asked by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills to inspect provision for extended work-related learning in Key Stage 4. Her Majesty’s Inspectors visited 60 schools, pupils on placements in colleges of further education, workplaces, training organisations and voluntary sector programmes during the school year 1999/2000.
