Fostering quality assurance and data forms 2011-12 first statistical release

This publication covers data on fostering in England, covering the period between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2012.

Data was submitted by 94% of all fostering services.

Thank you to everyone who submitted their returns. Although not fully complete it gives a really useful picture of the numbers and profile of foster carers and children in both local authority and independent services.

It also gives data relating to types of foster care, registrations and de-registrations, and a range of other subjects.

On 14 May 2013 we updated the national data and independent fostering service aggregated data in the Excel workbook Fostering services quality assurance and data forms 2011-12. This update was to correct two minor errors. The errors relate to A1.1 ‘Permanent Places’ on both the ‘England’ and ‘Independent’ tabs. We also updated the Word and PDF documents to reflect the changes to A1.1.
