Generic grade descriptors and supplementary subject-specific guidance for inspectors on making judgements during subject survey visits to schools

The English, science, history, religious education, modern languages, physical education, D&T, mathematcs, EBE, geography and music guidance were updated in January and February 2013.
In coming to subject survey visit judgements inspectors will use the relevant criteria and grade descriptors from the 2012 section 5 evaluation schedule and additional guidance specific to each subject.
