This example shows how Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School was once a school with unfulfilled potential, perceived locally as a good school but, in reality, one where the notion of ‘just good enough’ had become entrenched. Students’ outcomes have since improved year-on-year at a faster rate than improvements nationally. High expectations and aspirations, and a focus on good and better progress, are now the norm. This is one of 12 case studies about the schools featured in the Ofsted report Getting to Good.
