The University of Birmingham was judged to be outstanding in its secondary phase partnership in 2012-13. The foundation of this very high quality provision is a common, single-minded principle that underpins all of the training provision, and characterises the qualities of trainees, namely providing high quality development feedback. It is rare to find such careful, expertly-led teacher training that so effectively models this common pedagogical idea. The theory is backed by excellent practical course arrangements, with seamless integration of centre-based and school based training.
