Ref: 120083

This document was updated in January 2013.

This guidance provides you with information about registration on the Early Years Register.

It is not authoritative legal advice.

It will help you decide whether to apply for registration. It explains what processes your application will go through before we can decide whether you are suitable to be registered as a childcare provider on the Early Years Register.

The registration process looks at your ability and suitability to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage. The Early Years Foundation Stage is a comprehensive framework that sets the standards for learning, development and care of children from birth to 31 August following a child’s fifth birthday, known as the early years age group.
