This is a consultation document on Ofsted’s proposals for a revised framework for the inspection of residential family centres.

We are seeking the widest possible range of views from those who have an interest in, or expertise relating to, family assessment and support, so that the inspection framework takes proper account of the needs and circumstances of all interested parties. We particularly want to hear from people who have been directly involved with residential family centres: children, parents and those who commission services.

Above all, the framework must assure the quality of assessment, care, support and guidance for parents and their children who use residential family centres, and support the continuing improvement of the services provided.

The closing date for the consultation is 9 October 2012.
