The logical chain: continuing professional development in effective schools

This report looks at schools’ arrangements for the professional development of their staff. It is based on visits to 29 schools whose previous inspection reports identified strong practice in this area. It also considers the arrangements for staff’s professional development in different subjects following inspectors’ visits to a representative sample of about 130 schools.

It will be of particular interest to schools, the Department for Education and Skills and the Training and Development Agency for Schools.
