Making the most of Ofsted's data

05 Mar 2012 Ofsted

This strategy focuses on how we will develop and use official statistics as a basis for improving the way Ofsted works and how we will disseminate the data and statistics we gather through our role as an inspector and regulator. The strategy recognises the importance of data in helping users make informed choices about services as well as generating social and economic growth.

Ofsted is committed to making a contribution to the government’s aim of driving reform and improvement through transparency and citizen participation. Ofsted does not publish a formal Open Data Strategy, but our approach supports each of the government five strands for open data and this strategy particularly addresses the capture and release of Big Data.
