Official statistics: Children's social care inspections and outcomes

This page has statistics on the inspection of children’s social care providers in England.

Statistics on:

• inspections of children’s homes will be published on a quarterly basis
• inspections within other social care remits will be published every six months.

Each release comprises commentary, charts and tables in pdf format, charts and tables in Excel format, and the underlying data in Excel and comma separated values (.csv) format.

There is an additional release to provide the data which covers the period of the Annual Report 2010/11.

On 23 January 2013 we amended the title of one column in table 2 of the Excel workbook called ‘03_1209_CSC_ summary_non_children's_homes (provisional)’ in the zip file called ‘Children's social care (excluding children's homes) inspections and outcomes - Apr - Sep 2012 – Provisional’. The grade descriptor is now called Satisfactory/Adequate, rather than Satisfactory. This change has been made to better reflect the two types of grade descriptors used in the different types of inspections.
