Official statistics: Maintained school inspections and outcomes to June 2013

This page has statistics on the inspection of maintained schools in England. Each quarterly release comprises key findings, charts and tables in pdf format, charts and tables in Excel format, and the underlying data in Excel and comma separated values (.csv) format.

The Maintained schools inspection and outcomes - Oct to Dec 2012 was replaced at 1pm on 7 March 2013. Changes were made to the underlying datasets (files 04, 05, 06 and 07 within the Zip file). All key findings and summary tables (files 01, 02 and 03) remain unchanged.

In addition there is a separate release to support the findings of the schools sector report which is published alongside the Ofsted Annual Report. Changes to table 3 were made on 28 November 2012.

A full list of local authorities with the proportion of pupils attending good or outstanding primary and secondary schools separately at 31 August 2012 is also provided.

This page contains supporting statistics for the '(Un)satisfactory? Enhancing Life Chances By Improving ‘Satisfactory’ Schools' report by the Royal Society of Arts. The zip folder contains one Excel file with summary tables on the most recent and previous inspection outcomes for open secondary schools as at 8 April 2011.

This page also contains management information. These figures are not official statistics, they are internal management information published in the interests of transparency.

These figures have not been reconciled centrally with any official statistics. Where differences appear between the monthly information and Official Statistics, clarifying comments will be provided. 

The zip folder contains a Word file and a pdf file with management information on the outcomes for schools inspected since 1 January 2012, under the Education Act 2011. The second management information is an excel workbook containing a summary of the latest inspection of secondary schools at 31 December 2012 (and published by 4 January 2013) by region.
