Ofsted was commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) to undertake an evaluation of the personal development aspects of outdoor education with specific focus on the work of outdoor education centres. This report concentrates on the opportunities provided for students of age 9-16 years, in outdoor education, linked to aspects of the National Curriculum in PE.
