Outstanding Providers

The outstanding providers listed include early years registered providers, maintained schools, independent schools, colleges and providers of work-based learning, adult education and children’s social care.

The providers listed are those judged outstanding overall. In some cases special criteria may apply - for example, if a provider has more than one inspection during the period. The criteria for inclusion on the list are described in the published list.

The proportions of providers inspected in each local authority area vary from year to year and providers inspected do not necessarily represent the local authority as a whole.

We usually mail logos and certificates for providers who we judged to be outstanding during the month following publication of the inspection report to our website.

The lists

We publish two lists of outstanding providers.

The first provides lists of all those providers who met the outstanding provider criteria in the most recent year for which data is available.
The second provides a single list of all providers who have met the applicable criteria in any year since 1993. In the second list the year(s) in which that provider was included are also shown.
