Proportionate inspection consultation paper

This document is a consultation about our plans to develop an inspection system for maintained schools that is more proportionate to risk. This responds directly to the government's agenda for further reductions in inspection and builds on the successful introduction of the current arrangements since September 2005. Please note that the consultation closed on 11 March 2006 and the paper is for information only.
