Safeguarding children reports the findings of a survey to investigate schools’ and other education providers’ systems for checking the staff they appoint. It identifies confusion about procedure and problems with record-keeping and guidance, while also including examples of good practice. This report will be of particular interest to schools, colleges, local authorities, parents and governors.
