The School Sports Partnerships Programme (originally called the School Sport Co-ordinator Programme) was launched in September 2000. The overall objective is to increase the percentage of 5-16-year-old schoolchildren in England who spend a minimum of two hours each week on high-quality PE and school sport within and beyond the curriculum to 75% by 2006.
