Tuning in: wider opportunities in specialist instrumental tuition for pupils in Key Stage 2

In 2000, the Secretary of State for Education and Skills said that: 'over time, all pupils in primary schools who wish to will have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument'. In 2002, local education authorities (LEAs) were invited to participate in pilot programmes to explore the delivery of this aim. Ofsted was asked to evaluate 12 pilots. Tuning in... complements a DVD about the pilots.
